"But those who wait upon God get fresh strength. They spread their wings and soar like eagles." Isaiah 40:31 (MSG) In January 2015 I attended at conference with Meredith Andrews leading worship. She shared about her upcoming song, "Soar." Meredith said that she wrote it while in a season of waiting for God to do what she believed He had promised her. Her song really encouraged me, since it had been a little over two months after my miscarriage. I felt like I was in a season of waiting on God to heal my broken heart and to restore my physical health. I believed that God had plans to increase our family, but those plans had just gone down the drain (at least in my mind). Could I wait on God and trust in His timing? I prayed that He would give me strength to wait and trust Him. After the event ended I mustered up my courage (and was forced by my friends) to share with Meredith how her song impacted me. I totally spilled my whole story to her and I'm pretty sure I even cried. Embarrassing! However, she was so gracious and kind, and I'm glad I was able to share how God uses her to encourage me. I pray this shirt will be a reminder that when we wait on God, He renews us and gives us strength.
